I seriously adore Alexander McQueen with a passion that I myself can barely begin to fathom. Last year I belive--yes, in the fall of last year, I came across his Spring 08 fashion show, and I fell in love with his gorgeous whimsical style.
Crimson for BACALL
This is by far my favorite peice in the collection. It pleases me the most, the color transition is absolutely amazing, and its so beautifully flowy - I could just cry. Honestly. I think it had wonderful shape, and I might even dare to put shoulder pads in this one to balance the hair. Length might also be something to try to improve this one. If this had those two things - I would buy it in a hearbeat, no matter the price.
flows like honey
I would also not only buy this one, but wear it often. With a simple gold chain, or no jewely at all, and pretty pink red lips, basic eye make up and soft cheeks, this is a domineering dress to wear for many occasions. The model's pale skin draws attention to the pale colors of this one, I feel they're warm, not washed out, and sweet. Not quite psychadelic - but almost . . . I like this one very much as well.
BACALL's Kimono
If, on one of those lovely sailing trips he took, Bogie went to Japan, and brought back a kimono for Bacall--this is what it would have to look like. Strong shoulders, long lean legs, and slightly masculine. I think she, and I, would prefer a belt rather than the birdcage like corset.
butterfly sunset
I think this is nice . . . its alright, a flop in comparasion to everything else he brought out, I think the butterflies are cliche, and the pink-purple is over done. But as far as dresses go, this isn't bad at all. I still would have prefered that red we saw earlier and maybe and orange. And some birds instead of butterflies. LATER: maybe red to purple?
Psychadelic drugs in the 50s
There are no words. This is awesome and gorgeous at the same time.
Crimson Robotik
I really liked the few things he brought out that were almost cruel to look at - harsh edged and awkward cuts - that were grey and crimson. From the future, but warm. The red doesn't look like blood, and the clothes are kinda cute. Its nice.
His bird dress:
Ummm, I liked up, but don't they give you neck cramps from having to crane your neck around them?
